You can check them out by using the following li...

Susan, How nice to see your post about Cherryvale and the Vasquez Garcia family. As far as I know, Aurora Vasquez Garcia (my great grandmother) did not have any siblings in Kansas. She had only one brother, who eventually ended up in Cuba, and several sisters. As for Diego, I don't know much about h...

Art, I'll be there too, with my laptop and scanner. I hope that those in attendance who would like to have pictures scanned for themselves, and/or for the website will bring them along. This will save time and worry with shipping pictures to us for scanning. I also know that there will be at least 5...

Xosenrique, What great news! I know that several Asturianos who were in West Virginia returned to Spain, and that some came for only a short time to work and then returned. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to do the research required to find them. Can you tells more about how you learned about ...

Seeking Your Help on Genealogical Terms
One of the many shortcomings of electronic translators is the fact that often they translate literally without understanding terms in context. This is especially true when trying to translate genealogical terms from English into Spanish. First cousin, second cousin, great Aunt, great great grandpare...

Cuaderno del Norte?
My cousin used to have a publication called CUADERNO DEL NORTE that featured contemporary Asturian artists, poets, and authors. I've tried to find it on the web, and I don't seem to have any luck. I'm wondering if others have heard of this journal and if it is still in publication.
Thanks!

Hey Sweeney, I think you're coming up against one of the most common problems with electronic translators. Although my experience has been with the online translators, I haven't heard of others that will do much better. Something like the Altavista translator should at least give you a place to begi...
