George

So George was in the Military. Perhaps the pension file I mentioned was for him afterall. It may have been filed in the Civil War records by accident. I thought it was far to much of a coincidence: A man named George W. Fernandez with a wife Nina who applied for a widows pension in 1910. So it looks...

Dear Spdairy: The most important thing is what town they were born in. You do not need an exact date (or at least I did not when requesting information). But since most searches are done by hand and not by computer, it is best to have at least the year. Usually this can be gained by the US Census. I...

Also in 1930 I found a 29 year old Thomas Fernandez living in Brooklyn Queens. With him is his wife Anna and his three children: Eleen [4 years], Thomas [31 months old] and Marie [7 months old]. Could this be your grandfather? 8)
