My father, his father and two brothers worked in the Spelter zinc works. My father was fortunate in that he ...

Also, I have lots of genealogy information on the Hickman's going back to the early 1700 in Maryland if you are interest. Your dad, Fred, is ...

I have a second cousin who just returned from Aviles/Piedras Blancas. He visted with some cousins and took pictures of my grandfather's/his father's house there for me. I have an address for a distant cousin in Castrillon. I am not familiar with the area so I do not know where Castrillon is in relat...

Patty, I received your e-mail and will provide you with pictures of Andres Gonzalez and his wife Josefa Vega, my great-grandparents, your great-great grandparents. Andres came to the USA, but returned to Spain to be with his wife Josefa and their daughter, Audlia, who was blind. The other Gonzalez c...

Well, I didn't want to respond to this; however, I decided to weigh in on the comments under this posting. I am on the Right, not far right, but a moderate Republican. I gave up the Democratic party with LBJ (a result of the Vietnam War and how he fought it, as a Vietnam era vet) and it became final...

I agree with Corsino. Take Kansas where I live outside of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas is a Republican state. Kansas City itself is heavily Democratic (lots of blacks and Mexicans reside within KC and are registered as Democrats). However, even Missouri is now changing with Republican senators ...

Barbara, when I read your post on your grandmother's soup with cabbage or kale, beans, potato's, etc., I could smell in my mind the same dish my grandmother Menendez would make in Spelter. It was wonderful with great flavors. I still have one of her cookbooks (in Spanish). Need to see if the receipe...
